BRUCE HAYNES
Bruce Haynes heads the public affairs advertising practice at National Media. Bruce is a veteran political and public affairs strategist, designing and executing high profile communications strategies and corporate campaigns for Fortune 50 companies, trade associations, national coalitions and non-profit organizations.
Expert in strategy and message development, Bruce has directed message and advertising efforts to manage the corporate image of a leading pharmaceutical company, and to prevail in a several hundred million dollar business dispute between a major cable network and cable programmer. He has led efforts to successfully reposition large trade associations, and managed positive legislative outcomes in issue areas such as health care, telecommunications, energy and legal reform.
Bruce has conducted message-training workshops for Fortune 50 companies, and advised large federal government agencies on public affairs campaigns. Bruce oversaw the paid media effort for the Citizens for Better Medicare campaign in 2000, the largest issue advocacy campaign of its kind, and his campaigns have won prestigious awards such as the Silver Anvil.
Prior to joining National Media, Bruce served as Chief-of-Staff to former South Carolina Congressman Bob Inglis and as staff counsel to two-term South Carolina Governor Carroll Campbell. Bruce served as an advisor to many state and local political and public affairs campaigns.
A native of Florence , South Carolina , Bruce attended Furman University and holds a B.S. in Political Science from Francis Marion University and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association. Bruce, along with his wife Catherine and their two sons Walker and Lawson, reside in Annandale , Virginia .
